Helping a struggling child

As children grow, they become more impulsive and less careful about things that really matter. So, every setback they experience is just normal pattern and pitfall of growing up

When the setbacks are consistent, it becomes a major source of concern and most parents panic, especially when it affects the child’s academic performance

The focus shouldn’t be to worry but to take vital steps towards ensuring the child is helped to thrive. 5 things every parent must do to help a struggling child…

1. Offer incentives and rewards for doing hard work rather than punishment

2. Evaluate your child for possible learning differences so appropriate tools can be used. Some kids just need to be taught differently.

3. Expand your view of success for your child, using their unique skills, interests and learning styles.

4. Whether it’s a big win or small one, celebrate your child’s progress. Encourage them to keep at it and let them know you’re here to help

5. Get involved. Create an after-school schedule with them to work through their homework, study and bedtime stories
