If I were the Minister of Education in Nigeria, I would pursue these 7 themes

1. comprehensive review of the curriculum across all levels—primary, secondary and tertiary—and the digitization
of learning.
**Some subjects, courses and concepts are obsolete.
2. Bring back the community system of education.
**Community schools for children between ages 5 and 11 for primary education
**This can be achieved by working with local governments.
3. Pursue compulsory and free basic education (primary and secondary) for all children
**Children of public office holders must attend government-owned schools till secondary level
4. Pursue public-private partnerships for model/unity colleges and international collaborations for non-model colleges
**India has a good template on this
5. Give tertiary institutions (polytechnics and universities) autonomy and revamp vocational and technical institutions.
Leadership in universities must never be a political appointment but rather one of character, competence and capacity.
6. A complete overhaul of the education agencies and examination boards
**Cancel Post-UTME (UTME is sufficient) and cancel NYSC (it’s pure waste of funds)
7. Make the teaching profession highly attractive
**Finland has a strategic template on this
It’s really easier said than done
